	A warm welcome to you from Sathya Sai Charitable Trust. Today 4.5 Crore people in the world are blind of which 90 Lakhs are from India alone. And 80% of Blindness is caused due to Cataract. Karnataka state of South India needs over 2.5 Lakhs surgery per year to clear the backlog by 2005. In udupi district where the population is around 10 lakhs, 20% of the population are blind due to lack of financial support to undergo surgery. 	Considering the above facts, the Sathya Sai Charitable Trust (Regd.) has started a charity hospital devoted to Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

	The hospital also has different departments like Skin, Medicine , Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Surgery, ENT, Dental, Obstetrics and Gynecology, where veteran doctors who are devotees of Sri Bhagwan Sathya Sai Baba are invited to work on a rotation basis for a specified period of time, the invitation being open to one and all service minded doctors from all over the world. The Sathya Sai Charitable Trust has made facilities to provide for food and accommodation to those doctors who respond to the invitation, free of cost.	Sathya Sai Multi Specialty Eye Hospital

In order to accomplish this noble purpose our hospital would incur a monthly expense exceeding an amount of Rupees 365,000. (US Dollars 7,500). Also to upgrade the infrastructure and convert this hospital into a vitro retinal center a estimated amount of Rupees 2 Crore (US Dollars 400,000) is required.
